When speed matters, it's clear Intel delivers!
The last few years AMD hardware has dominated the CCT Tournaments. This year, while AMD still held the advantage of number of participants using their hardware, it was Intel that won in the end.
With five of the top six finishers using Intel equipment it was clear as day which company has made two, four, and eight core systems available, but also make them work incredibly well. In an event where speed reigns supreme, Intel's Core Duo 2 processor has turned the computer chess world on its head.
As more and more of today's chess programs are becoming SMP (Symmetric Multi Processing) capable there is no doubt that this is where the future is going, and Intel has a fantastic product line to take us there.
When my next tournament, the Kikrtech Invitational takes place April 28-29th on the PlayChess.com Server, I am expecting to a see an entire field of SMP Intel machines. Eighteen of the top programs in the World have been invited to play to promote Anti-Piracy with in their own community and sport.
